KATHMANDU, FEB 28 - UCPN (Maoist) Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal has warned of organising further protest programmes if the ruling parties do not amend their mistakes during the constitution drafting process.
Addressing the mass assembly organised by the opposition alliance of 30 political parties at Khulamanch in the Capital, Dahal warned the ruling parties to correct their mistakes in the constitution drafting process or face the consequences. “The ball is still on your court. Begin consensus process with parties within and outside the Constituent Assembly,” said Dahal.
Dahal warned that it will be too late for a new agreement if the ruling parties refuse to mend their mistakes. Dahal lashed at ruling parties for breaking the dialogues between the political parties. He clarified that the political talks will begin only after the majority process in CA was annulled. “The voting process should be stopped and the disputes should be resolved through dialogue committee. Only after then the talks will begin,” said Dahal suggesting the parties to resolve disputes through the Political Dialogue and Consensus Committee (PDCC).

The Maoist chief also clarified that he will not backtrack from the path of protest. “Some leaders say that Prachanda will back from the protest but I will choose death instead of bowing down,” he said.
