One More 16yrs Girl Raped By Teacher In Hetauda

Police arrested a school teacher on the charge of raping an 18-year-old girl from Hanaiya in Rupandehi district on Friday. Bhim Narayan Tharu, 22, who is also the acting headmaster of local Saraswati Primary School, was accused of raping the girl on Thursday while she was collecting fodder at a field.

A preliminary investigation by police confirmed that the girl had been raped. Police took the accused into custody and initiated an investigation in the matter after receiving a complaint from the victim’s father, Ram Narayan Bhuja, on Sunday. The victim is with Maiti Nepal.

Meanwhile, an 18-year-old girl was found dead in a sugarcane field at Rajgunj Sinuwari VDC-6 in the district on Sunday. Superintendent of Police Ganesh Bahadur Thapa said the girl, identified as Kanchan Kumari, daughter of local resident Khatar Mehata, and said to have been missing since Saturday, could have been murdered. While Thapa said they were investigating the case, locals suspected that Kanchan might have been raped before she was murdered.

A police team reached the incident site immediately after they were informed of the incident and arrested local resident Pradip Mandal in connection with the murder.
