U.S. ambassador attacked in South Korea

The U.S. ambassador to South Korea was injured in attack by a man early Thursday morning in Seoul and taken to a hospital for treatment, according to local reports and images shown on television.
Mark Lippert was shown holding the side of his face with a cloth and blood stains on his hand and neck. Officials for the U.S. embassy in Seoul couldn’t immediately be reached for comment.
Multiple local reports said Lippert was attacked by a man with a knife around 7:40 a.m. local time at a lecture hall in downtown Seoul.
The reports said the assailant was a man in his 50s who attacked Mr. Lippert with a knife. The reports said the injuries weren’t life threatening.
